DeGroot’s previous website was developed in 2007 and in need of a major overhaul. The project involved overcoming hurdles related to migrating from a latent system.

PROJECT SUMMARY
DeGroot is a wholesale plant distributor located in southeast Michigan. Coming from such a dated system meant additional time invested in the front-end to imagine how the project could grow beyond its current capabilities.
One of the largest updates was creating a responsive, consistent website design which carried through the overall content structure. Their previous site’s inconsistent, convoluted set-up made navigating difficult. I sought to create a personable, yet professional image for the company. The use of asymmetry and vector illustration as opposed to boxy images met their desire for open, streamlined spaces.
Working closely with the client throughout the entire process resulted in a concise, user-centric end product with expanded capabilities and simple management.
